Cookie Policy

1. About this policy

This Cookie Policy explains how hirebmb ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on https://hirebmb.com and the hirebmb application.

It supplements our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.

The data controller is the operator of hirebmb, a sole proprietorship based at 42 Clonminch Place, Tullamore, Co. Offaly, R35 H5R3, Ireland. Contact: support@hirebmb.com.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow a site to remember your actions and preferences across pages and over time.

We also use similar technologies such as:

  • Local storage and session storage - similar to cookies but stored in your browser without being sent back to the server with each request. We use these to keep you signed in and to remember UI preferences.
  • Pixels and SDK events - small scripts that record interactions and send them to analytics services.

In this policy, "cookies" covers all of the above unless we say otherwise.

3. Why we use cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you signed in and protect your session.
  • Remember your settings (for example, theme, language, dismissed banners).
  • Process payments securely.
  • Measure how the Service is used so we can improve it.
  • Diagnose errors and stability issues.

We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising or for selling your personal data.

4. Categories of cookies we use

4.1 Strictly necessary

These cookies are required for the Service to work. They cannot be turned off in our cookie banner. Without them you cannot sign in, submit forms safely, or pay.

  • sessionid - Session cookie that identifies your session. Expires when the session ends or after the configured session lifetime.
  • csrftoken - protects against Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks on form submissions. Expires after 12 months.
  • auth_token / refresh token - stored in browser storage to keep you signed in across visits. Cleared on logout.
  • Cookies set by Stripe on checkout pages for fraud prevention and security. Stripe is the data controller for those cookies; see Stripe's Cookie Policy at https://stripe.com/cookies-policy/legal.
  • Cookies set by Google during "Sign in with Google" for OAuth authentication. These are controlled by Google.

Legal basis: necessary for the performance of a contract and for our legitimate interest in security. No consent required under the ePrivacy Directive.

4.2 Analytics

These cookies and similar technologies help us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. They are set only after you accept analytics in our cookie banner.

  • PostHog (EU host, https://eu.i.posthog.com) - product analytics, event tracking, and feature usage. Sets a ph_* cookie or local storage entry containing a pseudonymous user ID. Default retention up to 12 months.
  • Google Analytics (provided by Google Ireland Ltd.) - aggregated website analytics. Sets _ga and related cookies. IP is anonymized where possible. Default retention up to 14 months.

Legal basis: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time.

4.4 Marketing and lifecycle email

We send marketing emails through Loops only with your consent. Loops may set tracking pixels in those emails to measure opens and clicks. These are not cookies set on our website, but they collect similar information when you open or interact with our emails.

Legal basis: your consent.

5. Third parties

Some cookies are set by third parties when you use the Service. Each third party is responsible for its own use of cookies under its own privacy policy:

6. Your choices

6.1 Cookie banner

When you first visit hirebmb you see a cookie banner where you can accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can reopen the banner at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

6.2 Browser settings

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings:

Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the Service, including sign-in.

6.3 Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where it applies. When we detect a GPC signal from your browser, we treat it as an opt-out of analytics and any "sale" or "sharing" under US state laws.

We do not currently react to legacy "Do Not Track" headers, because there is no agreed standard for them.

6.4 Opt out of specific tools

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our cookie use changes. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email.
